Our Faculty
Ami
Ami has studied dance for more than ten years and brings an understanding of balance, rhythm and energy to American Tribal Style belly dance and Raqs Sharqi.
Ami has participated in workshops with Kaeshi, Unmatta, Amar Gamal, Karim Nagi of Turbo Tabla, Nourhan and Yousry Sharif, Urban Tribal, Jill Parker, Fat Chance Belly Dance, Rachel Brice, Tamalyn Dalah, Domba, Ansuya and Jillina. Ami continues her studies with Rachel Kay Brookmire and Elysa.
Recent performances include Oojami at La Swimming, Lula Lounge and the Birchmire, Under a Desert Moon 2005 and 2004, Spirit of the Tribes 2005 and 2004, Turbo Tabla, Impressions of Egypt, Saharabesque!, Artscape Baltimore and Under a Desert Sky 2003.
Ami is a member of Sahara Tribal and teaches the tribal belly dance and teen belly dance classes at Sahara Dance.
