Jen Mallow

Jen has enjoyed the opportunity to study with many talented teachers, including: Amy Sigil, Mira Betz, Mardi Love, SuperKate, Rachel Brice, and April Rose. Jen was one of the original members of April Rose’s troupe The Nautch Project, which has headlined at the Ojai Bellydance Festival and Tribal at the Nile festival in California. The Nautch Project has also performed at Tribal Fusion Faire in San Luis Obispo, and was featured in UNMATA’s improv set at Tribal Fest 10 in Sebastopol.

Under April Rose’s tutelage, Jen became passionately obsessed with Amy Sigil’s improv format HPITS (Hot Pot Improv Tribal Style). Even after moving to Washington, DC in 2010, Jen continued studying with Amy Sigil at Hot Pot Studios in Sacramento to further her fluency in this dance language. Jen is now one of a small group of handpicked teachers trained to teach HPITS, and she is honored and excited to bring it to Sahara Dance.
