Laura was drawn to belly dance’s exotic roots and finds it to be the best physical and mental therapy. Laura is a former member of Raqs Caravan East and performs regularly as part of Sahara Dance Entertainment. She has studied belly dance for several years and completed the Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training.
In addition to her belly dance training, Laura is also captivated by the spirit of hula dancing. She first studied hula in Southern California with Anne Marlene Garland Dietzman. She now finds hula to be the language of her heart, and hopes to inspire others through a fusion of these two dance styles.
In addition to her intensive studies with Rachel Kay Brookmire and Sahara Dance founding faculty members, she has also participated in workshops with other highly recognized dancers and instructors including Karim Nagi, Faten Salama, Amar Gamal, Bozenka, Zahra Zuhair, Zaza, and Yousry Sharif.
