Lynne

Lynne began studying dance at a young age. Her background includes tap, ballet, jazz, swing, salsa and many other Latin dances. For her the dance floor is a place of strength, beauty and happiness, a place always ready to make her smile.

She has been a soloist and performed with Raqs Caravan East, Raqs Caravan West, and is currently a member of Raquettes Latin. Additionally, Lynne is a former member of SAOCO DC salsa performance group.

Lynne has studied intensively with Rachel Kay Brookmire and other founding members of Sahara Dance such as Ami, Elysa, Ebony and Chiaki and completed the Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training program.

In 2010, Lynne also studied the roots of Egyptian dance with dancer and dance ethnologist Sahra Saeeda. In addition, Lynne has taken workshops with world renowned dancers and instructors such as Jillina, Rachel Brice, Kami Liddle, and Ava Fleming.

Lynne enjoys the beauty of raqs sharqi, the mystery of tribal belly dance, and the excitement of fusion.
