Masha

A trained ballerina, Masha has studied with ballet instructors from Kirov Ballet, Balshoi Ballet, Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and the American Ballet Theater.

Through ten years in the ballet studio, she performed and worked as rehearsal assistant in ballet productions such as Carmen, Copelia, Giselle, Swan Lake, and the Nutcracker.

Masha began belly dancing at university, as a compliment to her studies of the Middle East and Arabic. She began in tribal fusion belly dance, and was introduced to folkloric style while studying abroad in Cairo, Egypt, where she taught belly dance-hip hop fusion. Masha continues her belly dance training at Sahara Dance and is participating in the fifth Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training.

In addition to ballet, Masha’s dance background includes Latin, hip hop and flamenco. She draws inspiration from all of these dance genres to create her own unique dance style.
