Yvette
Raqs Sahara
Yvette has studied raqs sharqi with Rachel Kay Brookmire, Elysa and Saphira, and participated in workshops with Amar Gamal, Suhaila Salimpour, Karim Nagi of Turbo Tabla, Nourhan and Yousry Sharif and Mahmoud Reda.
Prior to her raqs sharqi studies she trained as a dancesport athlete in international style Latin with world-renowned coaches. While participating frequently in local and national competitions, she developed the discipline important to her current study of raqs sharqi.
Yvette’s movement and dance background also includes ballroom, ballet, modern, yoga and pilates. Yvette has trained as a Sahara Dance teaching assistant throughout 2005.
Yvette performs regularly with Raqs Caravan East and Raqs Sahara.
