Raqs Caravan Showcase

Many of my friends, and maybe many of you, are in the midst of the end-of-semester madness of term papers, Powerpoint presentations, final research projects and semester exams. Sahara Dance is similar… but more fun and there are no grades. SD students learn a lot throughout the semester, and then pull it all together in exciting performances at the student showcases. It is thrilling for the performers and audience alike. I always enjoy the variety of dances, costumes, music, and elements of expression.

The 7th Annual Raqs Caravan Showcase is this Sunday (Dec. 7), at the newly renovated intimate blackbox Source Theater. There will be two shows: 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Both shows will feature Raqs Caravan East and West, Intermediate Repertoire, Arab Folkloric Performance, LI Veil Performance Tribal Veil Performance and Introduction to Tribal classes.
