Thursday night was our last class before the hafla tonight! We practiced the choreography several times, facing the mirror, and facing away. A lot of people from the class are planning to go to the hafla tonight, so not only will we have a great performance, but maybe we’ll help Allyson win for best attendance! Plus, we’ll have fun hanging out and congratulating each other for a great performance.
Our new BII move for the week was some awkwardly named hopping traveling step that makes my ankles hurt days later. Do I have weak ankles? Yikes. I’m Googling for ankle-strengthening exercises, just in case. I know there’s this thing called relevĂ© (belly dancing up on your toes) coming up at some point, and I want to be ready for it. Ankle training shall begin soon.
In the meantime, though, I will continue to annoy my husband by blasting our hafla song and hogging the mirror to analyze my arm undulations. Just for a few more hours.
I hope to see everyone at the hafla tonight!
