New Introduction to Belly Dance Classes! Starting Now!

March 6, 2009 11:42 AM

Sahara Dance is offering three new 8-week Introduction to Belly Dance classes, beginning THIS WEEKEND!

This is what students had to say about the first 8-week Introduction to Belly Dance class (January 8 - March 4):

“I’ve enjoyed it so much and it makes me want to come to class and also practice at home.”

“It’s a very positive and welcoming atmosphere.”

“Good teacher, fun, not too crowded, a good day and time, makes me feel good about myself.”

“I have always wanted to try belly dancing - the 8 week class was perfect because of the price and limited time commitment. I love the ability for makeup classes too.”

This 8-week class is recommended for new students or as a supplement to technique classes for all students new to Sahara Dance or seeking a refresher. The 8-week session includes detailed breakdowns of class warm up, proper Middle Eastern dance posture and alignment, arm carriage, basic footwork, shimmies and turns. Class will also include discussions on the history, context and philosophy of belly dance, as well as a brief introduction to Middle Eastern music. Open to all levels; no belly dance experience required.

Classes are available at the following times:

Sahara Dance Central (Tenleytown) Saturdays, 12:00-1:00 pm (first day March 7) Mondays, 7:00-8:00 pm (first day March 9)

Sahara Dance Woodley Sunday, 6:00-7:00 pm (first day March 8)

Registration and more information about these classes is available online.

We hope you can join us in the studio this spring!
