Countdown to Sahara Dance Caravan (Part 3)

August 13, 2009 01:33 PM

Oooooo…. we’re getting closer. How many of you are dreaming your choreographies?

If you’re just tuning in to the Countdown, part I is here, and part 2 is here, and part 3 is below.

Recap:
10: The costumes
9: The props
8: The music
7: The makeup
6: The food
5: The photos

4: The camaraderie. Each performer has been spending several hours per week for the last 14 weeks with her stagemates. The class gets stressed out and silly together, they learn what’s going on with each other outside of class, they laugh and dance and rehearse together. This time spent together forges a unique bond; no longer a class of strangers, the group becomes cohesive as women learn to trust and rely upon each other, to support each other, and to work together to bring a beautiful dance to life.

3: The afterparty. You’ve already got your makeup on and your hair done, so why not celebrate your performance by partying with your stagemates? After 14 weeks of preparation and countless hours spent rehearsing, you deserve to revel in your accomplishment. You can sleep in on Sunday.

Sahara Dance Caravan Afterparty (after the 8:00 pm show)
Lebanese Taverna Bethesda Row
Cover: $15, includes a buffet of mezze
We have full use of the lounge, and hope you will join us for some serious celebrating.
Family, friends and fans are welcome!

2: The DVD. Just in case your carousing at the afterparty blurs your memory of the show, we have a special gift for every performer… a DVD of the show! You can share it with out-of-town friends and family members (because your local friends and family will be in the audience to support you, right?). You can “accidentally” have it playing when you want to impress a guest or get the conversation rolling at a dinner party (“oh, this? Silly me, is that still on? That’s just my belly dance performance… Oh, you didn’t know that I dance? Let’s just watch this piece…”) The DVD is not quite as shiny as a trophy, but it is a proud reminder of your performance.

1: …. (tune in tomorrow)

Have you got your cheering section? Tickets are still available.
