Undulations are slow, sensuous movements that look beautiful and are good for your body. Done correctly, they build flexibility and strength around your spine. They’re like a mini-massage in the middle of your dance routine! Plus, undulations are exciting and help you gain control of your belly. Join Allyson for an afternoon of swirly, snakey fun.

Undulations and Swirly Movements

Explore the slow and sensual side of belly dance. Guaranteed to be a deeply muscular, core workout! Learn taqsim combinations to put movements into musical context. Taqsim refers to a solo, instrumental piece or section of music, often improvised. Hypnotic and introspective, some believe the soul or essence of a dancer is revealed while performing to a taqsim. Learn to recognize the instruments most often used in a taqsim, and how to reflect the music in your dance. Open to all levels! Class is structured to be accessible to beginning dancers, offering modifications to challenge intermediate students.

Date: Saturday, October 10
Time: 2:30 - 4:30 pm
Teacher: Allyson
Location: Sahara Dance Central
Cost: $35 in advance / $45 at door
