See Sahara Dance at South Silver Spring Block Party

The weather is crisp and the leaves are starting to change color… fall has arrived in DC! If you feel like getting outside to enjoy this excellent weather, check out Sahara Dance at the South Silver Spring Block Party on Saturday.

Each year the South Silver Spring Neighborhood Association throws a block party celebrating the people, artists, musicians and merchants in and around our community. The event is free and offers something fun for everyone:

* Over 50 vendors selling everything from paintings, photography, jewelry and flowers to original t-shirt designs, candles and homemade bath products
* An international food court ranging from vegan baked goods and Italian home cooking to Indian and Southern BBQ
* Live music and entertainment acts ranging from 50’s rock to hip hop and flamenco to acoustic folk pop (and belly dance!)
* Beer garden sponsored by Hook & Ladder, a local Silver Spring brewery
* Kids Creative Corner where families can make fun Halloween and fall creations together
* Raffle prizes worth hundreds of dollars including free dinners at local restaurants, movie tickets, free groceries, jewelry, and much more
* Pet adoptions sponsored by a local animal rescue shelter

Bring family and friends to help celebrate community!

There will be a stage for dance and music performances, and members of Intermediate Repertoire and Raqs Caravan companies will perform at 3:30 pm.
