Sahara Dance is the Best Dance Class in DC!

Sahara Dance won first place for “Best Dance Class” in this year’s Best of DC contest, and won runner up for “Best Dance Company”! Woohoo!

We were thrilled to be nominated, and just happened to have a little victory speech prepared, you know, just in case…

Sahara Dance would like to thank:

• *all of our teachers, whose joy and enthusiasm for the dance has created a thriving, creative home for Middle Eastern dance;
• *our studio assistants, who dedicate time and energy to creating a welcoming environment and upholding our high standards;
• *our beautiful Raqs Sahara, Sahara Tribal, Sahara Dance Entertainment, and Community Outreach performers, who share the joy and beauty of belly dance at special events throughout the DC area;
• *our performance students, who share this timeless dance with friends and family, filling the stage with colorful skirts, swirling veils, and tinkling finger cymbals three times per year;
• *and all of our students, whose dedication and devotion keep this ancient art form growing and thriving in the DC area.

We are grateful for this wonderful community of dancers, and are proud to be recognized as DC’s Best Dance Class of 2010.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for Sahara Dance. We did it!
