Sayonara DC, Konnichiwa Okinawa! (Good-bye DC, Hello Okinawa!) …. Thanks, Chiaki, for the help with that translation! ;)
The time has come for me to wave goodbye to Washington, DC and Sahara Dance. As most of you know, I am moving to Okinawa, Japan, where my husband will be stationed for the next few years. I am very excited to start this new chapter in my life. It has been a wonderful 9 years of dance at Sahara Dance that far exceeded my dreams and expectations. I never knew I could become a dancer until Rachel and Sahara Dance showed me it was possible. I thank all of you for making my time as a student and teacher at Sahara Dance SO rewarding. I consider all of you good friends and will always carry you in my heart as I continue dancing throughout my lifetime.
I can’t leave without a few additional words to Rachel: Rachel, you’re a true inspiration to me as a person, dancer, and leader. Thank you for all you have given to me and ALL the chances you have taken on me! Much Aloha!
A hui hou (till we meet again),
