Raqqesat Arabi [P]

Raqqesat Arabi is an LI/Int. Sahara Dance student company specializing in social and folk dances of the Arab-speaking world, including, but not limited to, Egyptian folkloric dances, shaabi, khaleeji, and more. Choreographies may include props.
Special focus is placed on accurate portrayal of regional dances, understanding the context of dances within their cultures of origin, nuanced expression, and company camaraderie. Directed by Leilah Moon.
Prerequisites:
1) Completion of Sahara Dance Low Intermediate I Technique, or equivalent; and
2) Simultaneous enrollment in Low Intermediate I Technique class, or above
