RAQS SAHARA MEMBER – FORMER RAQS CARAVAN EAST

Cynthia began her belly dance journey in 2001, studying under Lulu Sabongi (Lulu from Brazil) at Khan el Khalili in São Paulo.

A lifelong dancer, Cynthia has trained in ballet, jazz, and a variety of traditional Brazilian dance styles.

She completed the Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training, including Journey Through Egypt I & II with Sahra Saeeda. In addition to her Sahara Dance training, Cynthia has expanded her dance education through master classes with renowned artists such as Karim Nagi, Amel Tafsout, Kay Hardy Campbell, Nashwa Cahill, Bozenka, Ansuya, Shahrzad, Ebony Qualls, Petite Jamila, Sonia, Issam Houshan, Mahaila El Helwa, Esmeralda, Paula Trigueiro, and Rachel Kay Brookmire.

A proud member of both Raqs Sahara and Raqs Caravan East, Cynthia performs regularly with Sahara Dance Entertainment. Her dance appearances include venues such as Skewers, The Park, Marrakesh Restaurant in Washington, DC, as well as private events like birthdays and weddings.

Cynthia has a deep love for improvisation and believes that dance and music should be felt, not just performed. When music resonates in the heart she believes it creates something truly magical.
