SAHARA DANCE RESIDENT TEACHER

Maria has been learning belly dance at Sahara Dance since approximately 2010, and has studied and performed multiple styles including Egyptian cabaret/Raqs Sharqi, folkloric, and Latin fusion. She also has previous dance training in salsa, bachata and tango. She has supplemented her bellydance training with workshops by numerous renowned teachers including Shahrzad, Jillina, Mohamed Shahin, Karim Nagi, and Nada El Masriya, among others. She loves to continue to learn and deepen her understanding of the dance. Maria has completed the Sahara Dance Foundations Teacher Training and has completed Sahra Saeeda’s Journey Through Egypt Levels 1 and 2. She is a member of Raqs Caravan East and performs regularly. She loves finding an emotional connection to the music and expressing her creativity through dance. She hopes to share the joy and artistry of dance with her students.
