SAHARA DANCE RESIDENT TEACHER

Nicolette started dancing at a young age and was always interested to entertain audiences with a performance dance art. She began her dance study in ballet, jazz, modern, and tap. During this time, she auditioned and was accepted in several dance programs to expand her skills.

After moving closer to the Washington, DC area, she studied ballroom, latin social dances and was introduced to bellydance (raqs sharqi). Nicolette started regular classes at Sahara Dance around 2008 where she began performing this dance form at various shows and venues. She has been a member of Raqs Carvan East, Raqs Sahara and Sahara Tribal.

She has studied with many performers and instructors including Sahara Dance facility, Aziza of Canada, Yousry Sharif, Jillina, Virginia of Miami, Tito Seif, Mohamed Shahin, Rachel Brice, Karim Nagi, Sadie, Donna Mejia, Amanda Rose and many others.

Nicolette is an award-winning performer and is the First Place and People’s Choice winner in the 2018 East Coast Classic Semi-Professional Cabaret Category. She also received an award as the Third Place Winner in the 2019 Essence of Bellydance Professional Category including both fusion and cabaret dance styles.

Nicolette had the opportunity to participate as a cast member in Jillina’s Bellydance Dance Experience’s (BDEx’s) Wizard of Oz theatrical production in New Bern, NC and Virginia Beach, VA.
