Arabic Rhythms in Belly Dance with Marta Korzun, August 24, 6:00-9:00 pm

Price range: $120.00 through $185.00

Rhythm is the backbone of belly dance—understanding it is the key to dancing with confidence, musicality, and authenticity. In this workshop, we will dive deep into essential Arabic rhythms, learning how to recognize them, interpret them, and dance to them with precision and feeling.

We will train our ears to identify rhythms within the music, explore how to match movements to each rhythm, and practice improvising with them to develop stronger musical expression. Through technique drills and dance exercises, you’ll gain a deeper connection to the music and a stronger foundation for both choreographed and improvised performances.

What to expect:

  • Breakdown of key Arabic rhythms—how they sound, feel, and where they appear in belly dance music.
  • Ear training exercises to help you recognize and distinguish rhythms within songs.
  • Technique drills to match movements with specific rhythms for a natural and musical dance approach.
  • Improvisation exercises to explore rhythm variations and develop your own expression.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, mastering Arabic rhythms will elevate your dance, improve your musicality, and boost your confidence in improvisation. Join us and take your understanding of belly dance music to the next level!
