El Zar (Raya w Skina) Workshop, Dec 7, 1:30-3:30 pm

$30.00$40.00

Zar is loud music dominated by the sounds of tambourines and accompanied by dances and movements performed in dim light. Its practitioners say it aims to expel evil spirits, while opponents see it as a kind of quackery.

El Zar is one of the oldest traditional cultural dances that still exists in Egypt and most of the Middle Eastern countries. Come join us for this intense spiritual experience in Mohamed’s first ever Zar workshop.

Open to all levels of dancers.
