Join Leilah Moon for a performance project exploring the expressiveness, stylization, storytelling, and artistry of a vintage Golden Era choreography.
Selected dancers will learn and perform the choreography with Leilah and a group of dedicated dancers in the gala show at Migrations Dance & Music Festival in Austin, Texas.
The project includes eight hours of training and personalized guidance and feedback from Leilah throughout the process.
Level: Advanced, semi-professional, and professional dancers.

How to audition
1. Register here for the free audition.
There is no charge to audition. Registration does not guarantee selection for the performing cast.
2. Send your introductory materials before November 15.
Email your dance bio/CV and a YouTube link to a recent solo dance video to leilahmoondances@gmail.com. Completing website registration does not replace this email. Leilah will provide the Zoom link.
3. Learn the audition combination.
Attend on Sunday, November 15, from 5–6 p.m. Eastern, in person at Sahara Dance or online through Zoom. If you cannot attend live, you may learn the combination from the recording.
4. Submit your audition video by November 29.
Email Leilah a recording of yourself performing the audition combination by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on November 29, 2026. The audition recording will remain available through this deadline.
5. Receive your casting decision by December 1.
Leilah will notify applicants whether they have been selected. Accepted performers can then complete paid project registration.
Project participation options
Performer — $250
For dancers selected through the audition process. Includes four training sessions, one final in-person rehearsal, personalized feedback and guidance, the live performance, and photos and videos of the performance.
Training will be available online through Zoom or in person in Washington, DC. Training dates and times are to be announced.
All performers must attend the final in-person rehearsal in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, January 28, 2027.
Travel, accommodation, costume costs, and festival workshop registration are additional. Performers must participate in Migrations Dance & Music Festival. Visit https://www.migrationsaustin.com/ for festival information and workshop registration.
Dance Devotee — $200
Learn the choreography and participate in the creative process without performing. Includes personalized video feedback. No audition or travel to Austin is required, and the final Austin rehearsal is not required.
Dancers who are not selected for the cast may still participate as Dance Devotees.
Paid project registration will open after the November 15 audition. Performer registration is available only to dancers accepted by Leilah. Dance Devotees do not need to audition.
