The essence of raqs sharqi is musical interpretation, making sound visual to the audience through dance. This workshop will help students learn to refine their musicality through a variety of listening and dance exercises and combinations.

This is a follow up to the March 8 lecture on Egyptian music which will provide foundational concepts that we will apply to our dance. Attendance at the lecture is not a prerequisite for this workshop but some previous familiarity with Arabic music is suggested.

Recommend for students at level Beginner 3 and above.
