We get to dance Jillina’s epic choreography again, and with Jillina!

Did you miss the first WCF performance? Or, are you ready to perform this exhilarating choreography again?

Here’s the piece we will restage to close the Summer Caravan show:

Please join us for a restaging of the 8-minute World Culture Festival (WCF) choreography at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre on August 24th, as part of the Bellydance Evolution and Sahara Dance Summer Caravan show.

The sign up deadline is June 13th. Limited slots available. Dancers need to learn (or refresh) the choreography via video before the first rehearsal. Videos for learning / refreshing the choreography will be sent on June 14th. Dancers should know the choreography by the first rehearsal (July 14th).

This condensed performance intensive simplifies some of the blocking and choreography for the 8-minute piece. Rehearsals are solely for blocking, cleaning, and dancer feedback.

All rehearsals are mandatory, and in-person only (no hybrid option, though recordings will be provided). All dancers may not dance all sections, so as to make it manageable for the stage and time allotted for performance class rehearsals.

An optional video audition for the fan veil section will be offered to all dancers registered for the WCF performance intensive. Optional fan veil audition submissions will be due June 30th, by video

Costuming will be the same as in the original WCF performance: red galabeya, red coin hip sash and matching headband. Dancers will have the option to purchase a costume if they do not have one, or possibly borrow a costume and/or props, as available.

Dancers need to be available for the full day of the performance and technical rehearsals, starting at 9:00am on August 24th. Optional sign ups will be offered for professional hair and make up appointments on site, as well as professional photo shoots.

Prerequisite: Beginner II and above
Concurrent enrollment requirement in an 8 or 16 week technique or specialty class.
