Learn the stylization and technique of the introspective and soulful Zeibekiko, often called the “eagle dance.” Traditionally danced by men, this powerful form was born from the outcasts of 1920s Greek society. Today, it remains one of the most beloved and recognizable music and dance styles across Greece.

In this workshop, you’ll learn a brief choreography along with practical tips and subtle details that will help you improvise with confidence. Zeibekiko isn’t about perfection or even looking pretty. It’s about presence, emotion, and storytelling. No experience necessary, just an open mind!

In-Person: Your In-Person workshop registration secures your physical spot in the studio, as well as access to the class online. Workshops are held at our Sahara Dance studio in Tenley: 4433 Wisconsin Ave, NW, Washington DC. You may attend the workshop live, in-person, or live-streaming, online. Registered students have access to video recordings of each class for 30 days following the workshop.
