The Benefits Of A Longer Semester

You may have noticed that we’ve returned to 16 week semesters. Class prices are the same, but they are extended from 12 weeks to 16 weeks. Why did we do this?

Longer semesters support the relaunch of our student performance companies (see below) and our gala theater show, Under a Desert Moon! Our curriculum was also designed for 16 week semesters. 

For many belly dancers, the only option to pursue in-person training is drop-in gym classes, where all levels of students are combined and progress through a curriculum isn’t possible. Sahara Dance students follow a structured and cumulative curriculum from beginner to advanced. The curriculum provides a strong foundational training for those who wish to progress in the dance.

As a niche belly dance studio, we are grateful to be to be able to offer programming dedicated to the art form. More weeks training together means more elaborate theater productions, more intricate choreographies, more time to relax into emotional expression, and, best of all, more time to enjoy bonding with dance friends!
